Gujrat: Father sells twin daughters to pay off hospital dues

Hospital dues worth Rs 32,500 were pending against the family.

GUJRAT (Web Desk) – A poor father sold his twin daughters to pay hospital dues worth Rs 32,500, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

As per details, Nadra Bibi, wife of Bilal Khan was admitted to Ali Clinic and Maternity Home for delivery. The private hospital is situated in Jalalpur Jattan area.

After birth of twin girls, dues worth Rs 32,500 were pending against the family.

Later, a hospital employee identified as Sultana Bibi suggested them to sell their babies to clear the hospital bill.

The hospital administration allegedly finalised their deal with unknown persons in return of thousands of rupees and got thumb impressions of girls’ father Bilal Khan on a plain paper as a guarantee.

Doctor Rizwan said the girls were sold by their parents. He was informed about the reality later and only medical bill was charged from the parents.

On the other hand, the parents claim that they are unaware of the total amount given in return of their daughters.
