Charter – To Re-build Pakistan

Posted by Syed Nayyar Uddin on November 24, 2010 in Action Plan to Revive Pak Economy, Pakistan |

Now the time has come to separate the growth, development, education, eradication of poverty & security of Pakistan from the politics, forever.

All stake holders in Pakistan, must immediately come forward for deciding about the direction of the future of the nation.

In this regard, it is suggest that, we should aim to bring Pakistan, to the level of Singapore of 2010, by the year 2030.

All politics & considerations should be made subservient to this target for 2030, even if we have to abolish weekly holidays for the next 20 years & reduce our daily sleeping time to 6 hours.

I am more than confident that by the dint of sheer hard work, sincerity & honesty, which is imbibed in the bones of Pakistani work force, we can surely re-build our country into the comity of 20 developed nations of the world, in the next 15-20 years.

Under discussion artical is Well written, true analyzed with perfect consideration, ample suggestions make it more rewarded for the readers however I as a READER of your web-side do realize that our country would be progressed by leaps and bounds when collective thinking of the inhabitants of the country shall not be changed until or unless ,we should recognize our responsibilities as citizen of this country ,as to why we are going to word the wall merely due to our lack ness of understanding ,simply because we do not have better conception about the sacrifices over the dignity of the country, our country is giving us every thing on contrary to this we are giving it bed name in the shape of lawlessness, corruption, selfishness ,we have considered that we are the permanent host ,we are not answerable before any authority ,our autocratic behavior has been spoiling our efforts due to this reasons our country has not been progressing at the level where it should be , besides these under mention factors are deckling/obstacles before the economic development of the country.
However I do realize that ,The relationship with the IMF and World Bank, and its internal problems of Pakistan is that are causing unemployment, poverty, economic crisis and hunger..
Pakistan is a low-income country, with great promise for growth. Unfortunately, it is held back from reaching middle-income status by chronic problems like a rapidly growing population, sizable government deficits, a heavy dependence on foreign aid, recurrent governmental instability and large military expenditures.
It is to address these fundamental faults in Pakistan’s economy that the IMF has initiated the Structural Adjustment Programs in the country. Pakistan’s population is largely employed in the agricultural sector, which accounts for about 48 percent of the labor force. In today’s world the Industrial and Service sectors are the largest growing areas of a developed county’s
One major problem that Pakistan needs to deal with is the fact that its expenses are far more than its revenues., Pakistan is Rs 100 billion short of the money to simply keep its existing machinery operational.

How is a third world country supposed to develop an infrastructure when it is spending more than its net revenues on only two items, debt servicing and defense? In fact, Rs 18 billion of its defense has to be financed to borrowing. The Pakistani government has not been governing; it has simply been acting as a debt-securing agency.

Pakistan suffers from the typical problems that all third world countries suffer. One of these is massive corruption at all levels, estimated at Rs 100 billion a year. This means that a large portion of national wealth has been stolen from the poor. No wonder, the country is unable to lift itself out of the quagmire of poverty and hunger.

Tax evasion is another issue that the government needs to address. Successive governments have failed to establish a tax culture due to an inequitable structure The political leadership itself does not pay its taxes diligently., the repeated bowing down of the government to shutter-down threats of traders and the repeated refusal of large land-owners to meet their tax obligations is increasing the burden of taxes on the helpless poor, the organized sectors

The external debt of around US$ 34 billion is more than 50 per cent of GDP, and four times the annual foreign exchange earnings. Pakistan can neither repay nor service this debt.

Pakistan’s exports compromise 0.2 per cent of world exports and diversification from a single crop economy has remained an elusive dream. Therefore to hope for exports to be the driving force of economic recovery, as the government is doing, would require an astronomical rise in exports.

Your words are promising , I agree there is so much waste of time and energies.i add all institutions to have strict regarding timings and devotion with special reference to educational institutions. Accountability of work is essential , honest people to be appointed for this work.
But the most important is to abolish corruption in the higher level to level down the lower, Harder work – lesser sleep and holidays –more time devoted with strict rules will surely make our country stronger.
We must also follow the cleanliness system of Singapore to make our country pollution free. your loud thinking is the desire of every Pakistani who wish to have a strong Pakistan.Keep it up Noble Nayyar Sahib .
